Dear colleagues,

The Department of Food Chemistry and Environmental Toxicology at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, has now been involved for several years in research on Nutrition and Intestinal Health. This nation-wide research program funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bonn), coordinated by our Department, is aimed at elucidating the effects of apple juice and apple constituents on intestinal inflammation and carcinogenesis.

To put this research into a broader perspective, we are pleased to announce the 1. International Symposium on Nutrition and Intestinal Health (NutIntest) at Kaiserslautern (Germany) on February 28 - March 1, 2007.

We hope to encourage multi-disciplinary discussions on all aspects of nutrition and intestinal health among nutritionists, epidemiologists, physicians, food chemists, food technologists, and biochemists.

You are kindly invited to this symposium to contribute to the scientific programme, to meet your colleagues and friends, and to experience the city of Kaiserslautern as well as the beautiful Palatine Forest. We look forward to welcoming you to Kaiserslautern.
